Nike and Liverpool FC have unveiled the team’s new away jersey for the 2022-23 season.

The design of the new season’s away shirt is inspired by the vibrant music scene of the city of Liverpool, particularly its pioneering role in the 1990s dance music scene. Playing at their own pace, the new season’s away shirt is adorned with an iridescent marble pattern on a white base, transporting people back to a time when the team ruled the world.

The back of the jersey is a striking white color block to emphasize the individuality of each player’s name and number. The sleeves are black, highlighting the dazzling design. As is customary, the “97” flame logo on the back of the jersey below the collar commemorates the 97 fans who lost their lives in the Hillsborough tragedy. Starting with the 2022-23 season, the “96” in the logo will be changed to “97” in honor of Andrew Devine, the 97th person to leave the team as a result of the Hillsborough tragedy.

Nike jerseys are produced in a sustainable manner, with both player and fan versions made from 100% recycled polyester fabric, which is made from recycled plastic bottles.
The plastic bottles are collected, cleaned and melted down to make high-quality yarn as part of Nike’s “Move To Zero” commitment to sustainability. The soccer apparel has been a leader in sustainability and is in line with Liverpool FC’s ‘The Red Way’ initiative.
